North Head Lighthouse
ISO 250 1/160 f 20 85mm
This is just a lovely building, standing up against the endless backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Simple, elegant, uncomplicated. A nice warm summer afternoon, not too many people around, what more could a photographer ask for?
Although the nice blue gradient of the ocean up through the sky was a compelling argument for a color image, in the end the black roof against the white walls of the lighthouse won the day and I chose a monochrome rendering. I think that this is more true to the feeling I had as I stood before this inspiring vista.
