A Western Meadowlark

  I heard the call of this one before I saw him.  The sound was coming from one place and then another and I still could not see him.  Finally he flew up and landed on a dry stalk about forty feet away.  I lifted up my lens and took the shot.  That one shot was all he was going to allow me, he flew off right after I triggered the shutter.
